On July 1, 2024, Chloé Schindler joined A2L as a trainee lawyer after completing a 6-month internship at the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Minors of the Canton of Bern. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in law from the University of Neuchâtel.

On 1 and 2 February 2024, Me Gautier Aubert, in his capacity as FEI Tribunal Clerk, attended the annual in-person plenary meeting of the Tribunal of the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), which was held in Bordeaux (France).

On 14 December 2023, Me Gay-Balmaz will share fundamental legal knowledge and some practical tools with researchers as part of the 2023-2024 Training Workshop cycle “Managing your research data in the Humanities and Social Sciences”. Recently elected – replacing Me Dario Hug, who did not wish to continue his mandate –, during the General Assembly in June 2023, as Member of the Appeals Commission of the Amateur League of the Swiss Football Association, Me Aubert participates, on 3 November 2023, to his first in-person meeting of said Commission, at the ASF headquarters in Muri-bei-Bern.

On 22 September 2023, Me Aurélie Mariotti, first ever legal intern of the Aubert-Hug Law Firm, successfully passed the Neuchâtel Bar Exam. The Aubert-Hug Law Firm addresses her their sincere congratulations!

Me Gautier Aubert was recently appointed first Ethics Officer of the World Anti-Doping Agency. As such, he is responsible for implementing the WADA Code of Ethics. Working independently of WADA, Me Aubert is responsible for managing cases as they arise within the framework of the WADA Code of Ethics. He reports directly to the Chair of the WADA Independent Ethics Board. More information here.

On April 13, 2023, Me Aubert gives a lecture for candidates who plan to take the FIFA exam to obtain the players’ agent’s license. Me Aubert’s intervention concerns the FIFA Code of Ethics as well as the FIFA Disciplinary Code, and took place on 13 April 2023 at the football stadium La Pontaise in Lausanne. Ms. Iris Cavallo joins the Firm as Legal and Administrative Assistant. Currently a 2^nd year law student at the University of Neuchâtel, she replaces Mr. Yvan Lack who is finishing his Master of Law and will subsequently begin his internship to become a notary in a notarial bureau in the Canton of Neuchâtel. The Firm takes this opportunity to warmly thank Mr. Lack for the work accomplished during the nearly three years spent with the Firm, and wishes him all the very best for his next professional challenges.

On 1 October 2022, Me Chloé Gay-Balmaz joined the Aubert-Hug Law Firm as a trainee lawyer. Having graduated with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in law from the University of Fribourg, Me Gay-Balmaz is also writing a PHD thesis at the University of Bern, relating to “The legal framework applicable to research biobanks: de lege lata, de lege ferenda.”

On 1 July 2022, Me Mariotti brilliantly defended (with magna cum laude honors) at the University of Neuchâtel her PHD thesis in law entitled “La marge de manœuvre des autorités dans le processus décisionnel – Théorie générale et application en droit des personnes étrangères”. On 22 March 2022, Me Mariotti – who is about to finalize her PHD thesis in the field of the law of foreigners – gives a course on asylum law as part of the Bachelor’s class Introduction to migration studies, taught by the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the University of Neuchâtel.

Me Gautier Aubert spoke, on behalf of the Neuchâtel Bar Association (OAN), as part of a session set up by the Municipality of Cressier on 25 September 2021. This session aimed to inform the inhabitants of Cressier about the status of the assistance provided to the population, following the natural catastrophe that took place on 22 June 2021. Me Aubert, who spoke alongside Mr. Laurent Favre (Neuchâtel State Councillor), Mr. Frédéric Mühlheim (Head of OCRg), Mr. Jean-Michel Brunner (Director of ECAP) and Mr. Olivier Amstutz (Director of SD Ingénierie) detailed the intervention of the OAN, which consisted of free legal aid to guide the people who suffered from the natural catastophe.

The Aubert-Hug Law Firm announces the arrival, as Partner, of Me Oriane Aubert, attorney-at-law admitted to the Neuchâtel Bar and mediator FSM, as of 1 August 2021. Me Oriane Aubert graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in law from the University of Neuchâtel, and with a Master’s degree in law from the University of Zurich. Me Mariotti will complete her internship for a period of 18 months within the Firm, and will then complete her training for 6 months with a judicial authority. Holder of a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in law from the University of Neuchâtel, Me Mariotti is also completing a PHD thesis on the authorities’ margin of appreciation in the decision-making process. Lors de son Assemblée générale ordinaire tenue le samedi 24 août 2019, l’Association Neuchâteloise de Football (ANF) a procédé à la ré-élection des membres de ses commissions disciplinaires, respectivement à l’élection de nouveaux membres. Me Gautier Aubert a ainsi été élu nouveau membre de la Commission de Jeu (CJ). Cette Commission est en charge de traiter les cas disciplinaires touchant le football amateur régional.

Dans un article paru en février 2019 dans le quotidien neuchâtelois ArcInfo, Me Dario Hug évoque le rapport entre le Code des obligations suisse (CO) et la protection du consommateur. Il relève, en particulier, un rapport ambigu entre les deux. L’article est disponible en ligne en cliquant ici. 

Dans son édition du mois de décembre 2018, Repères, le mensuel de la Chambre neuchâteloise du commerce et de l’industrie (“CNCI”) présente l’Etude Aubert-Hug, en tant que nouveau membre de la CNCI. Le 30 novembre 2018, Me Dario Hug participe à la conférence de l’Université de Neuchâtel intitulée : « Blockchain et Smart Contracts – Défis juridiques et techniques en particulier dans les secteurs : Banques – Assurances privées – Transports », donnée dans le cadre de la 3e journée du Droit de la consommation et de la distribution.
Il y présentera sa contribution, également disponible sous forme de publication écrite, traitant de « La protection du consommateur face aux nouvelles technologies de la conclusion et de l’exécution des contrats ». Du point de vue de la protection du consommateur, la Blockchain et les Smart Contracts soulèvent en effet de nombreux défis et questions qui restent actuellement, pour l’essentiel, à clarifier.
